How to plan your Halloween cosplay build
1. Choose the silhouette first
For dramatic armor, Alphonse Elric, Ares and Metal Sonic create a strong visual presence. Amy Rose and Knuckles are strong choices for recognizable Sonic-inspired character builds.
2. Give yourself enough build time
Full-body armor takes planning. Leave time to print, scale, cut, assemble, test the fit, seal and paint before your event.
3. Test scale before committing material
Pepakura patterns can be scaled for different body sizes. Check sizing before cutting expensive EVA foam.
4. Build in sections
Break complex costumes into helmet or head, torso, arms, legs and accessories. It makes fitting and finishing much easier.
